The San Francisco Bay Area is served by Amtrak national rail service. If you will be traveling outside the Bay Area, Amtrak is a scenic option for getting to your destination. The west coast routes are beautiful year round. Trips throughout the U.S. can originate from the Bay Area. For travel within the Bay Area there are better ways to get around. More suitable transportation includes BART, CalTrain, buses or driving..

Within the San Francisco Bay Area Amtrak runs from San Jose to Oakland and Emeryville. Other stops are served by Amtrak shuttle buses which deliver you to one of the terminals listed above.
